Stirile Transilvaniei and Digitalio news platform launch a collection of digital art consisting of ten drawings with the theme of the emblematic places in Transylvania, with a Ukrainian touch. The collection entitled “Pixelvania against war” is a protest against Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, aiming to help Ukrainian refugees.
“War. War never changes.” An infamous phrase from the Fallout series seems more appropriate than ever, unfortunately. As the world pursues an armed insane bomber and kills children, we must all try to help the Ukrainian people. And because our knowledge of weapons is limited to video games, we decided to take action. We know it’s not much, but the goal is to help those in need. Proceeds from this NFT collection will go to the provision of food and all necessary items to Ukrainian refugees in Romania.
What have we done? We have chosen some emblematic places in Transylvania, but also some that are not on many tourist maps and that deserve much more attention from travellers. I translated everything into a “what if” universe, and then I added a current touch, with a strong message against the war in Ukraine.
The “wizard” who played in the universe “what if” is the high school student Paul-Sebastian Lazăr. He wondered what if one of the houses in the GoT was based in Corvin Castle in Hunedoara? And what if Bloodborne’s hunter was preparing for a fight in the Black Church in Brasov? And what if all these historical places were part of a Ukrainian kingdom?
Beyond the protest against the war, the collection of NFTs is also our way to help Ukraine as effectively as possible. We are joined by the Center for Peace and Violence Prevention (CPVP), an NGO that specializes in action in conflict and post-conflict areas and working with refugees. The funds obtained from the sale of the 10 drawings in the collection will be donated to this organization, which will buy and send the necessary aid now to Ukraine.
